Filia Veritatis: How And Why This Site Got It's Name
It was only after a month or so of going through about 10 very different ideas for site names that I came up with this one. I had a very vague idea of what I wanted, and I knew only a few things for certain as I tried to come up with a name: One, that I wanted to try to use Latin, since I do really love the language; two, that at the very core, the reason for this blog was my love for Truth - yes, that's with a capital "T"; and three (though this one came in later), that I wanted some connection to one of my favorite Catholic Christian phrases,"Daughter of the King". See, I've become more and more aware recently of the great depth of our Catholic faith, and the incredible fact that all of it is true and not only that, but our God IS truth ITSELF. The Latin phrase "Filia Veritatis" translates to "Daughter of Truth" in English. Once I came up with it (and translated it into Latin (thank you three years of Latin classes!)), I knew that I had the right name. It incorporated all of those things that I was hoping to capture with my website name.
